Key #1: FIND A STARVING CROWD Once
a business identifies a starving crowd of people, the next key is
to simply satisfy
the starving crowd’s desires by supplying the Products / Services they demand and WANT. But here’s where many businesses mess up... see, it’s not just about supplying one product, one time because when you find a starving crowd their hunger is NEVER satisfied with just one purchase (which means if you don’t have more to offer them, they are going to shop from someone else to satisfy their wants). That’s why smart businesses supply a series of products / services because the true profit comes AFTER the first sale when the customer begins to trust the company because of the value and service they’ve received from their first purchase (in the business it’s called your “Backend Sales Strategy” and it’s how almost every business can double their profits in days). Business Key #3: SALES & PROFITS Of course sales is the lifeblood of any business and the only true reason to exist. A highly successful business has got to go beyond sales to PROFITS. This means a business must have a proven marketing pipeline and methodology that... ...continuously targets, generates and funnels hot new prospects / leads to the business (online and offline, direct response advertising is the absolute best for this); ...maximizes the number of purchases and average purchase size (the right combination of online websites and offline support is required); ...quickly and profitably converts the maximum number of prospects / leads into first time customers (automated marketing methods are usually the most cost effective because it’s the only way you can usually get enough first time customers); ...turns first time customers into repeat buyers (this will usually mean having a sales force so they can work with people one-on-one to get the best results, and serve the customers best...unfortunately this is a very expensive part of the business); but not necessary at the beginning. ...turns repeat buyers into “lifers” - raving fans and 'evangelists' that want to buy everything the business has to offer (this is most effectively done with a combination of offline one-on-one customer service and online direct response advertising and automation)... If you can get your hands on the book "Raving Fans", do so. Business Key #4: MEDIA, MEDIA & MORE MEDIA! Sometimes this 4th and final key gets grouped in with sales and marketing, but it’s really a completely different business function and should be thought of separately. Simply put, different types of media is how a business both targets and initially communicates its marketing message to prospective customers... different media is what FEEDS the marketing pipeline with prospects from key #3 above. Here’s the really interesting thing: Most businesses (even the most experienced) completely overlook the media function and don’t understand it’s vital importance. In fact, it’s almost alwaysthe single biggest weak point businesses face (it’s their Achilles heel they are almost always blind to and is what keeps them from scaling and leveraging the business to it’s maximum potential in the minimum time because there’s almost an endless amount of different media sources (with brand new ones popping up every day) that can be used to target and communicate with potential prospects for the first time).
